Research is focusing on different aspects of molecular microbiology including biotechnological applications and host-pathogen interactions. Regulatory and metabolic networks in Gram-positive bacteria are studied from single molecule to multi -omics level, colonization of abiotic and biotic surfaces by microorganisms, the formation of extracellular vesicles and the interaction of pathogenic corynebacteria with various host cell lines and invertebrate model systems is studied.
